Academic and medical relations between Iran and Russia improve / Signature of Memorandum of Understanding between Sechenov University of Medical Sciences and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences

During the visit of Vice Chancellor of Research and Technology of the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Russia, a Memorandum of Understanding on Academic cooperation between Sechenov University of Medical Sciences and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences was signed.

Dr. Afshin Zarghi, the Vice Chancellor of Research and Technology at Shahid Beheshti university of Medical Sciences declared: "Today, at a meeting with the director of Sechenov University of Medical Sciences, we decided to create a Russian-Iranian delegation to strengthen cooperation on medical education”.

  

He added that organization of advanced courses in medical sciences in the fields of cardiology, urology, ophthalmology, dermatology, pediatrics, gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, radiology and short-term doctoral programs in pharmacy and para-medicine between Sechenov University of Medical Sciences and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences was also discussed and a collaboration agreement was signed. He declared that in the framework of internationalization of the medical sciences, we can achieve the exchange management of professors and students with other countries.

  

While signing the MOU, Professor Petr Vitalevich Glybochko, Rector of Sechenov University of Medical Sciences said that Iran is one of the world's leading countries in the medical sciences and hoped that scientific exchange between the two universities is going to be expanded as soon as possible. He added that Sechenov University is one of the oldest universities in the world with 3500 international students from 80 different countries.

It is worth mentioning that in this Memorandum of Understanding, joint research projects, short-term double training courses and fellowship programs have been planned.
